In the case of Duryodhana, he was ready for war because Krishna’s army the Narayanis agreed to support Duryodhana, Krishna was not ready to bear arms, Balarama was neutral and great warriors such as Bhishma, Drona, Karna, Salya, Ashwathama, Kripacharya etc.
